What is the Patient Educator program?
The Coloplast Patient Educator Program is committed to educating men and their partners about the benefits and considerations of penile implants and male slings. When considering an implant, men and their partners often have questions about lifestyle changes and practical experiences that can only be answered by someone who has personally experienced the procedure – someone like you! This program can be particularly helpful for men who are searching for additional information beyond the medical and clinical aspects provided by a physician.
What does a Patient Educator do?
A Patient Educator shares their personal journey and acts as a guide for men and their partners as they navigate through their erectile dysfunction (ED) and/or incontinence treatment process. This is done through seminars/webinars, phone calls, and in-office visits.
Share your story, share hope
As a Coloplast Patient Educator, you can establish a unique connection by simply sharing your story, providing hope and perspective to other men who are seeking a solution for their erectile dysfunction and/or incontinence.
Each year, Coloplast Patient Educators speak to more than 1,000 men considering a penile implant or male sling.
Becoming a Coloplast Patient Educator
If you have had a Coloplast penile implant or male sling for more than six months, and (for men with a penile implant) have practical experience using your implant, consider becoming a Coloplast Patient Educator. We’re looking for men who are:
- Confident sharing their story of how the Coloplast implant has improved their quality of life
- Well-spoken and comfortable engaging with people of diverse backgrounds and experiences
- Able to answer questions by relating the conversation back to their own experience
- Motivated to give back to the community and make erectile dysfunction, incontinence, and penile implants/male slings better understood by potential patients
